The task of the postdoc will be to perform and supervise novel therapeutic studies in experimental models of pulmonary hypertension. The efficacy of a variety of novel therapies ranging from gene therapy to repurposing of existing medical drugs will be tested. In addition, novel genetic and hemodynamic models will be generated. State-of-the-art hemodynamic assessments and imaging techniques will be applied in all experiments.

Because you will supervise different researchers, it is important that you possess good leadership qualities an be comfortable to work both independently and in a team. We will offer a working environment in which the translation from basic science to clinic is priority. The research of the pulmonary hypertension team is focused on diagnosis, treatment and understanding the pathophysiology of pulmonary vascular remodeling and right heart failure. As the national center of knowledge on pulmonary hypertension, the VUMC is a world expert on pulmonary hypertension patient care and research. All research is embedded within the research institute Amsterdam Cardiovascular Sciences. This provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and close collaboration with other experts in the field of cardiovascular research.
Salary Scale 10: 2750 tot 4361 euro gross when employed full-time (depending on qualifications and experience).
In addition we give a bonus of 8,3% of the year’s salary at the end of the year and 8% of the year’s salary as holiday bonus.
