We are looking for an experienced Grant Advisor that is familiar with the (inter)national grant landscape, and can help researchers navigate through the maze of funding opportunities and regulations. Our ideal candidate takes the driver’s seat in informing researchers about new and fitting funding opportunities, and helps them write winning grant proposals. You have a track record of successfully coaching individual researchers towards obtaining personal grants. Experience in managing and co-writing large consortium grants is of added value. You have strong writing and communication skills, an ambitious winning attitude, and a strong eye for detail. We’re looking for a colleague who is eager to get things done, but also knows how to have a good laugh after the deadlines. You want to further develop your writing and advising skills, also towards supporting consortium grants and keep growing and succeeding in this role.
As Grant Advisor, you will have a leading role in the development of our personal grant support. You will take the lead in organising our personal grant support program for the NWO Talent Program, coaching individual researchers towards success. In addition, there will be room to support larger (inter)national consortium grants, which will involve the active co-writing of grant applications. You will also become the primary contact person for at least one of our six strategic themes. You proactively keep yourself up-to-date with the (scientific) developments in your strategic theme and proactively contact researchers with appropriate funding opportunities, identifying and consolidating fitting funding strategies. Within the F&S team you will be a sparring partner for your direct peers, especially within the personal grant domain.
The Research Office is part of the Directorate Policy & Strategy of the University Medical Center Utrecht. The Research Office focuses on strategic advice on development, implementation and evaluation of science policy within UMC Utrecht. Team Funding & Support (F&S) is a part of the Research Office and focuses on advising and supporting the development of grant applications (pre-award) and management of awarded projects (post-award). The grant advisor will be placed within the pre-award branch of F&S which currently counts 8 colleagues. As member of our pre-award team you will also be assigned as the dedicated grant advisor of one or more of UMCU’s strategic themes, assisting them in finding funding opportunities and creating funding strategies.
